Do I need to have an isolation switch installed?

Yes, if your charger location is outside of 2m from your switchboard. It is an AGL safety requirement and is also compulsory by law in Victoria.

Isolation is required to prevent a short circuit or electric shock, which could harm people and equipment. The isolation switch is included in the installation cost.

A typical size of a switch would be 200mm x 200mm and look like the image, below.
