What do I do if I am involved in an accident?

First things first, make sure you and everyone nearby is safe and the area is free from hazards, as for the car, all our subscriptions come with comprehensive insurance. These simple steps will assist you at the scene of an accident.

  1. Determine whether any passenger in your or the other vehicle has suffered any injuries. Do not attempt to remove any injured passengers from your vehicle. Call 000 if required. 
  2. Do not admit liability or offer payments to any party concerned. 
  3. Exchange the following details with any third party drivers: name, address, contact details, license number and registration number. 
  4. Make every effort to find any witnesses to the accident and obtain their details
  5. Take notes and photos of the accident scene ( vehicle damage, cross streets, direction of traffic and so on). This information will help us complete an insurance claim form.
  6. After you have the details, please complete this online form and we will guide you through next steps.
  7. If your car is not drivable, please call roadside assistance to arrange a tow. You can find the number on the sticker in your car or via our on-road support page here. 

Police reporting guidelines carry in each state. Make sure you are aware of your requirements.  You may be subject to an excess as detailed in your contract.
