      What is the difference between type 1 and type 2 charging?

      Not to be confused with Level 1 and Level 2 charging, Type 1 and 2 refers to the plug type/standard for AC charging.

      Type 1 is the plug type used in North America and what the first EVs brought into Australia used. Around 2018, local EV sellers agreed to switch to the Type 2 plug used in the EU.

      It is important to know which plug your vehicle has so you can make sure it is compatible with the charging outlet wherever you intend to plug in.
