Charging time of a MG ZS EV depends on the type of charger you use. If using a standard 220v home or office 3 pin power point it will likely take approx. 30 hours to charge your battery from empty to full capacity. Should you have a 7kW charger installed (which is the most common for a single phase property), this charging time drops to approx. 7-10 hours.
The fastest way to charge your MG ZS EV is to use a commercial public DC charger. These can charge the MG ZS EV from empty to 80% full in approx. an hour.
For many people the MG ZS EV will have sufficient range - 320km on a single charge. However, just like a petrol or diesel vehicle, this can vary depending on a number of factors; such as how you drive (acceleration and deceleration), the weather (colder weather can drain a battery slightly quicker) and whether or not you have air conditioning on.
MG ZS EV supports both Type 2 connector (for slow and fast charging) and CCS connector (for rapid charging).
The cost to charge your MG ZS EV will depend on a number of factors, for example, where you charge (at home or at a charging station), for how long and what time of day. Charging from home is the cheapest option as you'll just be paying what you pay for electricity at your property.
The MG ZS EV has a 50.3kWh battery, so to work out what it would cost to charge up to full capacity, simply multiply the kWh rate for electricity by 50.3.
Here's an example: $0.30c/kWh of electricity x 50.3 (the kWh battery capacity of the MG ZS EV) = $15.09
Be sure to check if you are on a time of use energy cost as it might be even cheaper to charge your MG ZS EV during off peak times.
There are a number of factors that can impact the range of the MG ZS EV. Driving at higher speeds will reduce range. Driving at higher speeds can reduce the range, whilst softening your acceleration and deceleration patterns, just like with a petrol or diesel vehicle, can help to maximise the range of your MG ZS EV. If you utilise the climate control or heated seats, your battery may drain faster, thus reducing range. Colder temperatures can also drain your battery slightly quicker.
If you want to install a charger permanently, we can help! Navigate to our home charging page where you can browse EV chargers or get a recommendation on what home charger is best suited to your home.
